One week before Spring equinox which is equal to Persian New Year people in West Asia including Iranians along with many other historical cultures celebrate with fire!
By jumping or being close to fire we symbolically burn the bad energies and gain health and energy from fire element in nature. This happens on the last Wednesday of the year before spring; hence its called Wednesday celebration in Persian Language.
